by Mr D Dixon - Wednesday, 3 June 2009, 02:47 PM

If you are in Y7 and love being creative with IT / audio visuals and feel you could help us win this national competition please see Mr. Dixon as soon as possible.

Make IT Happy

Make IT Happy......is a competition for a group of Year 7 Pupils to work with our feeder primaries schools.This year the competition calls on schools to Make IT Happy! Using technology like audio-visual materials, web pages or interactive posters, we want schools to show us how IT could be used to make a positive difference to their local community.

Be sure that our entry makes the judges smile by being as creative as possible. We’re looking for entries that stand out from the crowd by making use of technology ininventive ways. Entries could be presented in one or a combination of the following formats:

* A short film
* An animated film or poster
* A recording of a radio ad
* A musical recording
* Website
* An animated presentation
* Podcast or something completely different!

Here is an extract from the Blurb of a new book for you to read:

'They're all dead now. I am the last one. Dr Morrow found something in the water. He doesn't know what it is, but he's seen what it can do. And now it's missing. The town is on flood alert and everywhere people are trapped by the deluge. But there's something out there far more dangerous....'

Doodle 4 Google
by Mr D Dixon - Thursday, 21 May 2009, 04:03 PM

Doodle 4 Google
We’re asking young people aged 5–16 from across the UK to design their own doodle. This year's theme is 'My Hero'. We'd love to see the figures young people look up to represented in their doodles, whether family, friends, people in the community, or world figures. We're interested in the people considered heroes for the 21st century and how entrants represent them using images.

See Mr Dixon for further details if you're interested in this competition, prize is a family holiday in California and your entry used worldwide on the google search engine.
